Our Wedding

Our story has only just begun! But we will take you from the moment we were put into each other's paths by God! In early 2023, Tyrone ran into a old army buddy that he did basic training with over 20 years ago at Chipotle. The old buddy (Stone) is married to Joi's cousin, Andrea. They became really good friends and soon introduced or mentioned Joi to Tyrone as a possible candidate for dating. June 2023, Andrea reached out to Joi's mom to connect the two but nothing came of it at that time. A few months later Tyrone messaged Joi via instagram and the conversation started there. After a couple of months of us talking Tyrone flew to Mobile for Joi's birthday and made it official in person. Although we were already talking everyday like we were exclusive, it was important to Tyrone to ask in person. As the relationship continued to grow, we were determined to see one another despite the long distance (over 900 miles) between us. Every month either Tyrone would come to Mobile or Joi would fly to Kansas City. In April, Joi went to Maryland to meet Tyrone's family. After months of courting, meeting family, we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with each other! Friday, May 17th, 2024, Tyrone proposed to Joi! And of course it was a yes! But the good news didn't stop with the proposal. Within the same week, Joi received a job offer in Kansas City, where she now resides with Andrea and her husband until the wedding. We are still in awe of the miracle of God timing! We are so excited to begin this next chapter with each other, our families &amp; friends!
